MOVIE REVIEW
Frozen II

Please note that this post contains spoilers for the movie.

I have had very few movies that I’ve been wanting to see at this end of the year, and Frozen 2 was one of them. T and I love a Disney movie. Its why we don’t really care what it looks like when the two of us turn up to watch them without a child. What did surprise me about the release of Frozen 2 is that Australia was only a week behind the US release. Sometimes we don’t get the Thanksgiving releases until Boxing day so the movie can be spoilt a bit during the month-long wait. It’s what happened with me and Frozen, I knew the twist regarding Hans three weeks before I got to see the movie.

Before I go on I want to say just in case you didn’t see the note at the beginning of the post that this is going to contain spoilers. I’m not going to give everything away but I will be talking about some scenes so that parents are fully aware of this movie before they go in. If you don’t want the movie spoilt but do want to get an idea so you can help your child I suggest checking out IMDB’s parent's guide on Frozen. If you don’t mind a few scenes talked about then continue to read.

I'm Back

It's been a while since I last posted anything on here and honestly I wasn't sure if I was going to come back. At the time I stopped, I had some things happening in my personal life that I needed to deal with and since then things have changed a lot.

When I last talked with you all, I was working most of the week, studying the other days and just enjoying my time off with my dogs and T. Well that's not exactly happening anymore.

I'm no longer studying psychology. I have plans to go back, but due to me missing some very important emails that went into the wrong files I am currently not enrolled for the next 18 months. I have plans to go back but I have to wait out the time. I can't blame the Uni, they did try and contact me a number of times but due to the emails going into the wrong place making me miss them and me still having access to my classes, I had no reason to contact them and see what was going on. Until I went to find out about exams.

REVIEW
Melissa and Doug's Band in a Box

In every family, there is that one family member who gives the noisy toys to the nieces and nephews. Through the recorders and drums and bells, you swear that when they have kids you're going to give them exactly what they gave to you. For my family, that member is my boyfriend, T. He has always gone out of his way to find the noisiest toys possible for his nieces and nephews and I know that payback is on the way.

The funny thing is that after ten years as a nanny the noisy toys don't bother me anymore. That is mostly because I rotate out a lot of the toys so that I can get a break from them and also because for many of the noisy toys my nanny kids have had there is a reason behind them being given. They have some kind of educational value that is more than just the noise and it's because of this that I really get in on the gift giving with T and hand out musical instruments.

OUR TRYING TO CONCEIVE JOURNEY
Part 3: The Weight Issue

I like t think that I'm a pretty confident person. When it comes to the things that I know about and feel, I'm very happy to voice those opinions. However, like everyone, I do have those moments of self-doubt and low self-esteem.

This weekend was one of those moments when I went searching for something to wear to my BIL's engagement party. I had been looking in a few different places for something and eventually settled on a beautiful dress from City Chic.

Babysitter Information Booklet

When you're leaving your children in the care of a babysitter it is always important to ensure that the person you're leaving in charge has all the information that they're going to need to make the night as smooth as possible. From emergency contacts to bedtimes routines, there is a lot of information that needs to be passed onto them.

One of the things that I've found can be hard when babysitting for new families is ensuring that I have all the information that I need for that night. Even if I was just putting the kids to bed, ensuring that I had emergency contacts and allergy information just in case was important.

Which is why I put together this booklet that can be used by parents and babysitters/nannies alike.

OUR TRYING TO CONCEIVE JOURNEY
Part 2: Walking on Eggshells

I think the worst part of the whole TTC process is the waiting. While I have had instances in my relationship before now when contraception has failed, the waiting there has never been as excruciating as what waiting now feels like. Mainly that is because we have always used two forms of contraception and so the chances of falling pregnant were small. But now, waiting to see if we have been successful, it feels as if the days are longer.

5 Great Toys for Your Baby Under $10

Preparing for a baby can be expensive. Between getting a cot and clothing them and ensuring that you have everything else that you're sure you're going to need, you can often find yourself in a pit of wondering where all your money is going. Thankfully, there are a lot of places out there now that give you a wide range of price options, so if you do have a tight budget you can still ensure the safety of your little one while you're at it.

One of my favourite places to go to find little gems is Kmart. While it is usually my go-to place to stock up on craft items they also have a lot of toys at cheaper prices that meet safety standards for your little ones. The toys in the Anko brand also tell you what they are to help in relation to skills so if you are a new parent (or even on your second or third child) you know what the toy can be used for.

OUR TRYING TO CONCEIVE JOURNEY
Part 1

This is a topic that I have been going backwards and forwards on whether to write about, especially as it's really just the beginning. What is really stopping me is that other than a couple of close friends and our doctors, no one else knows that T and I are trying for a baby at the moment.

GARDENING | Growing Tomatoes

One of my Nanny kids is a huge lover of cherry tomatoes. To the point that she will quite happily just much on a couple as a snack or have as a side with a sandwich. We've really been lucky with her as she has always been a good eater and is willing to give anything new a try. She does have her favourites (weetbix, vegemite on toast, peanut butter sandwiches, etc) but she also loves her fruit and veg. So naturally, I want to keep fostering this love for all kinds of food as do her parents.

Its Potty Time!
A Toilet Training Guide

This post contains links to affiliates

Toilet training is both an amazing and frustrating part of raising a child. It's amazing because it means that your child has reached a milestone where they are no longer in nappies and have reached a stage of independence. However, the frustrating side is all the work you have to put in before it becomes a habit.

Over the past 10 years of being a nanny, I've helped to toilet train a lot of children and what you'll find in this post is all the things that I do to ensure that the whole experience is a positive one for both you and your child.

10 Signs of a Teething Baby
(and how to help your baby through them)

This post contains links to affiliates.

Teething is something that every baby has to go through. Looking at it as an adult and remembering what it is like when we got out adult teeth, it doesn't seem as if it should cause babies as much discomfort as what it does. Instead of remembering it like you were a child, remember instead what it was like as an adult getting your wisdom teeth. It was painful. Then put that pain in the head of a baby and you can see why babies get as upset as what they do.

It can be hard sometimes to know if your baby is teething or not which I why I put together this list of symptoms to help.

5 Easy Activities For Your Toddler Using Things From An Easter Craft Tub

5 Easy Activities for Your Toddler Using Things From an Easter Craft Tub

With Easter just around the corner, it means that the Easter Crafts are out in numbers. I'm sure that you have all seen the Easter Craft tubs that are out, you can usually find them at Kmart and Big W plus a few other places that I'm not thinking of as I write this. What is so great about them is that you can do a lot more than just do arts and crafts with the items that are inside.

Hi-Ya!

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Sophie and I am the creator of Le Giggler. If you've come over from my old blog, I want to say Hello! If you're new here - welcome!

Le Giggler is a place that was created so I could write more about something that I was passionate about - children and their development. I love guiding children through learning that I have made it a career choice as I'm a Nanny. However, it's not just something that I have an interest in career wise as I am also studying Psychology so I can better understand how children's minds work to better help the parents that I work with.

I'm planning to post Monday, Wednesday and Fridays on a variety of subjects pertaining to children and child development as well as things that I do in relation to my job. You will get some more personal life stuff as well, but I don't know how often that is going to be.

With my posts, you may find links to Amazon or other affiliates. They just give me a little kickback if you buy using my links, which is then brought back into the running of the blog. Nine times out of ten if I link something it's more for you to know what I'm talking about and not an actual ad for the product. All posts have a line at the beginning saying that they have affiliate links.

If you want to keep up to date with what is happening, you can find all my social media to the right or you can follow me using BlogLovin as there is a link over there as well.

However, if you want to contact me in any length sort of way, you can find all my email information right at the top of the blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to talking with you all.
